I REALLY enjoy viewing Marco Photography and hope someday to do Macro Photography.  Now I just need a new lens.  I have a "macro" lens, but it fails to let me shoot if I am within 3.12' of my target.  That can be somewhat annoying.

However, I have a problem.  I actually know very little about the sort of lens I would need.  I have never taken a photography class or anything.  Everything I know I have pieced together by reading magazines, and using common sense.

So, if anyone reads this, do you have any suggestions on a Canon Macro lens?  I want to be able to get pictures that are very detailed and close to the subject.

Thanks!

Right before my last trip to the zoo, our large dog took offense to the fact that I had left the house without him.

We had family visiting from out-of-state and they did not hear the rule "Close the office and bedroom doors before you leave!"  Well, the dog got into my camera bag.  He did not CHEW anything.  He just relocated it and everything that was in it.

So when we arrived at the zoo on July 7th, imagine my surprise that my extra battery pack was not in my camera bag.  I am just glad he did not eat it.  So this batch of photos was taken with my daughters Canon PowerShot A590.  Enjoy!

P.S.  There will be a photo of the guilty doggie.

Butterflies!!!

1 min read
The Butterfly Garden at the MN Zoo opened on Saturday.  I took this chance to go, without children, and visit the butterflies.

I love butterflies.  They are so fragile and beautiful.  On this visit I decided I would try to play around with getting closer pictures of their faces, and see how I could work with the sunlight.  I am happy with a few of them.
